Junqi Pan

Junqi Pan is originally from China. She completed her Master’s degree at Northeastern University in Mechanical Engineering. Currently, she is a second-year doctoral student at University of Auckland (UoA), where she is enrolled in the Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering. Junqi’s research interests lie in the field of nonlinear metamaterials for broadband vibration damping. These metamaterials can be applied in various engineering domains, including structural dynamics and vibration control.
Currently, Junqi is studying the dynamics of a pendulum attached to an elastic rod, as is shown in the left figure, trying to check whether such a nonlinear autoparametric vibration absorber can have a better vibration transmission reduction performance compared to the linear vibration absorber through theoretical derivation and experimental verification.
